Janel Falk Chin

Janel F. Chin is a seasoned attorney based in Corvallis, Montana, specializing in family law, estate planning, and probate. Admitted to the Montana State Bar in 2012, Janel is dedicated to offering accessible legal services to her clients, ensuring they receive comprehensive guidance through life's challenges.

Before practicing in Montana, Janel was admitted to practice law in Colorado. Her experience includes representing non-immigrant crime victims applying for U-visas and making court appearances in the Broomfield District Attorney's Office, where she handled misdemeanor traffic cases and observed proceedings involving traffic, domestic violence, and sexual assault.

Janel's career also includes a role as an Outreach Coordinator at the University of Colorado's Institute for Ethical and Civic Engagement. There, she developed programs to improve high school retention and facilitate student access to higher education.

Her focus on alternative dispute resolution began during her undergraduate and legal studies. As a facilitator with the University of Colorado's restorative justice program, Janel guided students in creating reparative agreements. She also received mediation training through Boulder Community Mediation Services.

Janel has supplemented her legal education with work as a Research Associate and Assistant, focusing on Federal Indian law and natural resource management disputes. Outside of her professional commitments, Janel and her family reside in Missoula, where she actively participates in community volunteer activities.
