About Mathew Adam Work
Mathew Adam Work is the founding partner of Carlson & Work, celebrated as one of Nevada's top legal professionals. Born in Henderson, NV, Mathew was raised by his single mother and grandparents. He attended the University of Nevada, Reno, where he graduated summa cum laude with a degree in economics. During his undergraduate years, he was a collegiate athlete in lacrosse and football.
After completing his undergraduate studies, Mathew moved to Washington D.C. to pursue graduate education at American University. There, he served as a Capitol Hill Fellow and Congressional Staffer, gaining invaluable experience working alongside Congress members. He earned a Master's in Economics from American University.
Mathew continued his legal education at the Thomas Jefferson School of Law on a full academic scholarship, graduating magna cum laude. He received several accolades, including the Jefferson Award, Wilkins Award, Cali Award, and was consistently on the Dean's List. He was also selected as a teaching assistant due to his academic achievements.
Upon passing the Nevada bar on his first attempt, Mathew began his legal career as an associate, effectively defending criminal cases at jury trials. He later served as a criminal prosecutor for the City of Reno, gaining extensive trial experience. In 2017, he founded Work Law, now known as Carlson & Work.
Mathew's skills as a trial lawyer have earned him significant recognition. He was named Top 40 Under 40 nationally by the National Trial Lawyer LLC from 2017 to 2020 and was recognized as a Top 10 Trial Attorney by the Nevada Trial Lawyers Association. In 2020, he was awarded Nevada Attorney of the Year by Top 100 Registry Inc.
In addition to his legal practice, Mathew is a law professor at the University of Nevada, Reno and TMCC, contributing to the education and development of future legal professionals.
