William Swafford

William Swafford has been a dedicated criminal defense lawyer since graduating from law school in December 2008. He began his legal career by crafting motions for some of Nevada's most esteemed attorneys, gaining invaluable experience in handling cases from investigation through to post-conviction writs. Early in his career, he had the privilege of sitting second chair in jury trials, learning from highly skilled trial attorneys.

Throughout his career, William has passed bar exams across various states in the U.S. and spent ten years honing his skills by writing complex motions, appeals, pretrial pleadings, and appellate briefs for criminal defense attorneys in Northern Nevada. In 2021, he resumed litigating his own cases and has since been managing a busy and reputable criminal defense practice known for its relentless advocacy for clients who may face unfair treatment in the criminal justice system.

William is selective about the cases he takes on, focusing on those where he believes his involvement can significantly impact the outcome. He prides himself on being in a unique position to effect positive change in his community, free from the influence of politics or quotas. Outside the courtroom, William enjoys the natural beauty of Nevada's mountains and its small towns, frequently traveling to courts in the state's rural, historic areas to represent his clients.
