Elroy Sequeira

Elroy F. Sequeira joined Cohen & Winters in 2019, bringing his expertise in Criminal Defense and Family Law. He offers comprehensive legal support for clients dealing with serious criminal charges or complex family law matters.

Attorney Sequeira was raised in Minnesota. He pursued his undergraduate studies at The George Washington University, earning honors with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Psychology. He then attended law school at William Mitchell College of Law in Minnesota, where he participated in moot court and law review, graduating with honors.

Before joining Cohen & Winters, Attorney Sequeira served as a Public Defender in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In one of the state's busiest courtrooms, he managed thousands of cases, including misdemeanors, “gross misdemeanors”, and felonies, covering a range of charges such as drug offenses, criminal sexual conduct, and homicides.

At Cohen & Winters, Attorney Sequeira addresses various Family Law issues, including divorces, post-decree modifications, parenting plans, restraining orders, stalking petitions, ex parte motions, and grandparent visitation. His Criminal Defense practice encompasses traffic charges, DWIs, domestic-related offenses, drug charges, violations of protective orders, and felonies.
