Maureen A. Howard

Maureen A. Howard is a partner at Howard & McBeath PLLC, a full-service law firm dedicated to serving clients throughout New Hampshire. Her expertise encompasses Estate Planning, including Wills and Trusts, as well as Family Law, Mediation, Guardianships, Probate, and QDROs. Maureen has extensive experience practicing in district, superior, probate, and family courts across the state and has contributed to numerous successful appeals before the New Hampshire Supreme Court.

In addition to her legal career, Maureen is a retired ICU/CCU nurse with 37 years of experience. She has worked in New York, Portsmouth, NH, and Boston, serving in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Mass General Hospital. Maureen earned her CCRN certification over 35 years ago and has participated in multiple New Hampshire Medical Malpractice screening panels.

Maureen has also shared her knowledge as an adjunct professor in the Paralegal Studies Program at NHTI, teaching courses in Law Research and Writing, Medical/Judicial Ethics, and Risk Management.

Her educational background includes a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law, an M.A. in English from Stony Brook University, an R.N. from Regents College, and a B.A. in French from Brockport College, along with a New York State Teaching Certification (N-6).

Previously, Maureen practiced as a solo practitioner from 2007 to 2010 and was an associate at a mid-sized Seacoast law firm from 2001 to 2007. She also gained valuable experience as an intern with the NH Attorney General's Civil Division and as a judicial intern at the U.S. First Circuit Court of Appeals.
