Richard Godshall

Richard Godshall is a distinguished trial attorney with a focus on catastrophic injuries resulting from car accidents, truck accidents, construction site incidents, unsafe conditions, and defective products. He joined Ostroff Law after more than ten years as a defense attorney and partner at a nationally recognized firm.

Richard has substantial trial experience, adept in jury selection, lay and expert witness preparation, and cross-examination. He is also proficient in alternative dispute resolution techniques, including mediations and binding arbitrations. His cases have amassed approximately $100 million in settlements and verdicts.

In his role at Ostroff Law, Richard utilizes his insider knowledge of defendants and insurance companies to advocate effectively for injury victims. His insights into how insurance companies assess cases enable him to secure fair settlements for his clients.

Richard earned his degree from LaSalle University in 2001 and his Juris Doctorate from Temple University Law School in 2004, where he was on the Dean’s List and received the Barrister Award for outstanding trial advocacy. He is admitted to practice in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey, across state and federal courts.

An accomplished lecturer and author, Richard has contributed to discussions on punitive damages, surveillance law, liability in third-party personal injury cases, and contract indemnity risk in construction projects. He is a contributing editor to the “LexisNexis Practice Guide: Pennsylvania Personal Injury Litigation.”

Richard previously served as the Chairperson of the Construction Worksite Injury Subcommittee for the Defense Research Institute (DRI), a prominent organization of defense attorneys.
