Peter F. Boggia

Peter F. Boggia is currently of counsel at McLaughlin & Nardi, LLC, where he concentrates on alternative dispute resolution, particularly mediation and arbitration for civil matters. His distinguished career includes serving as a judge with the Superior Court of New Jersey and on the bench of five municipal courts.

Prior to joining the firm, Peter spent over two decades on the Superior Court bench, predominantly in the Civil Division. In Bergen County Vicinage, he served as both a trial judge and acting presiding civil judge, overseeing complex trials in areas such as product liability, class actions, medical malpractice, and serious personal injury. He was instrumental in launching Bergen County's first pre-trial mediation program for civil cases.

Before his Superior Court appointment, Peter concurrently served in the Bergen County Municipal Courts of Bogota, Maywood, Little Ferry, Leonia, and Fairview. His judicial career followed a successful period as a trial lawyer, where he was recognized as a Certified Civil Trial Attorney by the Supreme Court of New Jersey, a distinction held by only a small percentage of attorneys in the state.

Peter's legal journey began as an assistant prosecutor in the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office after clerking for the Honorable Arthur J. O’Dea, J.S.C. His early career included serving as house counsel for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, where he tried hundreds of cases to verdict.
