Michael L Detzky

Michael L. Detzky has dedicated more than thirty years to representing individuals and businesses in bankruptcy matters. He served as a member of the private panel of Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustees at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey in Trenton for over 15 years. In addition, he frequently lectures on bankruptcy topics for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education and the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Detzky's practice uniquely addresses the complexities of New Jersey and New York multistate legal issues. As a distinguished member of the New Jersey Bankruptcy Bar, he assists clients in achieving their legal goals seamlessly across state lines.

He graduated with Highest Honors from Rutgers College in 1975, where he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his law degree from Rutgers Law School in 1978. Mr. Detzky holds the Martindale-Hubbell "AV" peer-rating, indicating the highest level of professional excellence, skill, and integrity.

Mr. Detzky is actively involved in several professional organizations, including the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Monmouth County Bar Association, the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. He has served as a Captain in the United States Navy Reserve Judge Advocate General's Corps for 27 years.

He is licensed to practice in New Jersey, New York, the U.S. District Court for New Jersey, the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Court of Criminal Appeals for the Armed Forces. Mr. Detzky is a member and former trustee of the New Jersey State Bar Association, currently serving as the Chair of the Immigration & Naturalization Section and a Past-Chair of the Military Law & Veteran's Affairs Committee.

His membership in the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys further underscores his commitment to these areas of law. His "AV" rating from Martindale-Hubbell reflects his exemplary reputation in the legal community.
