Ava (Na) Li

Ava (Na) Li is the founder of Ava Li Law PLLC, a firm known for its expertise in trademark, copyright, immigration, and estate planning. Licensed to practice in both China and the United States, Ava brings a wealth of international experience to her practice.

Before relocating to the U.S., Ava practiced law in Beijing, where she played a key role on the legal team for the 2008 Olympic Games and successfully defended the trademark of the “Water Cube.” This experience underscored her belief that intellectual property is integral to a brand’s identity.

In 2012, Ava moved to the U.S. to advance her education, earning an LL.M. in International Intellectual Property Law from Chicago-Kent College of Law, graduating with honors. She later obtained her J.D. from South Texas College of Law Houston in 2017, a school renowned for its advocacy program. Her education instilled in her the conviction that effective advocacy involves giving a voice to the unheard.

Ava's career includes working with technology companies, law firms, and a municipal court in Texas, providing her with practical insights into the impact of law on everyday life. These experiences shaped her current focus: assisting clients in trademark, copyright, business and family immigration (EB-1A, EB-1B, EB-1C, NIW, O-1, L-1, H-1B, marriage-based), and estate planning.

In 2019, Ava was invited to rejoin the legal team for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympics, advising on intellectual property and entertainment law matters. During the 2020 pandemic, she returned to writing, publishing "The Gift of the Nine-Headed Phoenix" in UIowa Horizon, which reinforced her belief that storytelling is a crucial skill for lawyers.
