Barbara King

Barbara J. King is a distinguished partner at Tully Rinckey PLLC, where she chairs the New York State Family and Matrimonial practice. Her leadership extends across offices in Albany, White Plains, Manhattan, Syracuse, Buffalo, and Rochester. Barbara obtained her Juris Doctor from the City University of New York at Queens College.

Before joining Tully Rinckey PLLC, Barbara was a principal at a prominent Capital Region law firm, specializing in Family and Matrimonial Law. Her dedication to the community is evident through her involvement in various professional and non-profit organizations. She is a committed member of the Capital District Women’s Bar Association, having served as Treasurer and as the newsletter editor.

Barbara actively participates in The Legal Project, where she educates litigants about their Family Court rights and provides pro-bono legal services. Her work with domestic violence initiatives and matrimonial clinics for indigent individuals underscores her commitment to accessible legal assistance. She is also a member of the New York State Bar Association and a Board member of the Schenectady County Bar Association, where she chairs the Pro Bono Committee. In this role, she has developed the Modest Means Panel Program, offering reduced legal fees to low-income individuals in Schenectady County facing divorce and family law issues.

Barbara's dedication has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Suffolk County Pro Bono Award (1994), the Capital District Women’s Bar Association Volunteer Attorney Award (2001), the New York State Bar Association Pro Bono Award (2004), the American Bar Association Difference Maker Award (2009), and the Schenectady County Bar Association's Lawyer of the Year Award (2010).
