Peter J. Famighetti

Peter J. Famighetti is a committed advocate in the field of employment law, practicing in Brentwood, New York. He has represented clients in the United States District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, as well as in New York State Courts. Over his career spanning more than a decade, Peter has acted as both defendants' and plaintiffs' counsel in single and class action employment litigation. Notably, he recently won a jury trial concerning a First Amendment retaliation case in Federal Court.

Peter has extensive experience in arbitration and before administrative agencies, including appearances before the New York State Division of Human Rights, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and New York City's Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings. He has achieved numerous successful outcomes for clients in court, arbitration, and mediation settings.

Before transitioning to private practice, Peter served as a Deputy County Attorney in the Office of the Nassau County Attorney. In this role, he represented the County of Nassau and its various departments in employment and labor matters, including contract negotiations with labor unions. Prior to founding Famighetti & Weinick, he was a Senior Associate at a prominent employment law firm in Long Island and New York City, where he managed a complex caseload primarily focused on employment issues.
