Mary Ellen O'Connor leads O’Connor Law PLLC, a Bronx-based firm dedicated to workers’ compensation law. Her legal journey began with a BS from SUNY Albany and an MS from the College of Mount St. Vincent. Initially a K-2 teacher, Mary Ellen observed the challenges faced by students with learning disabilities, motivating her to pursue a law degree from CUNY School of Law to advocate for children with special needs. However, her focus evolved toward workers’ compensation, where she found her true passion.

Mary Ellen's commitment to workers' rights is fueled by personal experience. During law school, her husband suffered a severe workplace injury, leaving their family without income for six months. This experience gave her a profound understanding of the system's impact on families, reinforcing her dedication to her clients. She offers compassionate guidance to those navigating the complexities of workers' compensation claims.

Prior to establishing her firm in 2009, Mary Ellen trained new attorneys and was a frequent lecturer.
