Mr. Richard S. Jaffe

While completing law school at night, Richard S. Jaffe began his legal career at the Law Office of Stephen M. Cohen. As a paralegal, he honed his skills in drafting motions, memoranda of law, and conducting extensive legal research, particularly in insurance, liability, and healthcare issues. Upon his bar admission, he advanced to associate, representing seriously injured clients, healthcare facilities, and doctors.

As a Junior Partner, Richard led the firm's paralegal and investigation teams. Now, as a name partner, he continues his practice in Personal Injury, Insurance Law, Products Liability, Lead Paint Poisoning, and Public Entity Liability. He skillfully manages the workflow for six associate attorneys and the entire support staff. Richard regularly interacts with major insurance carriers, such as Allstate and State Farm, focusing on accident liability and wrongful denial of medical payments in no-fault cases.

Richard also provides counsel to healthcare practitioners and facilities on management service agreements, collections, and liability issues. His expertise extends to handling catastrophic personal injury cases. Additionally, he leads the firm's Bankruptcy Department, understanding the complexities and stress of the bankruptcy process. Richard prides himself on being accessible to his clients around the clock, emphasizing that bankruptcy laws are meant for forgiveness, not punishment.

In his limited spare time, Richard volunteers as a firefighter and medic (AEMT-CC) with the Jericho Fire Department and Brentwood Legion Ambulance.
