Maria Mateo

Since establishing Maria Mateo PC in 2010, Maria Mateo has been dedicated to delivering exceptional legal services. She graduated with distinction from St. John’s University with a Legal Master’s Degree and has focused her career on complex litigation.

She is authorized to practice law in New York and is admitted to the Federal Courts in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, as well as the Supreme Court of the United States. Her practice areas include Immigration and Matrimonial Law, where she manages cases involving family and work petitions, divorces, child custody, child support, and both pre and postnuptial agreements.

Maria has been acknowledged for her advocacy skills and professionalism. In 2017, she was recognized as one of the 10 best immigration lawyers in New York by the American Institution of Legal Counsel. The following year, she was listed among the 100 Bumble Business Most Influential People in NYC. Her contributions to the Dominican community and legal field have also been honored by the Duarte Honors and New York City council members.

Maria is also active in educational and advocacy efforts, presenting on credentialing for foreign lawyers and lobbying in Congress to uphold due process at the border. Her volunteer work includes supporting domestic violence victims through Sanctuary for Families.
