Sam A. Silverstein

Sam A. Silverstein serves as a Partner at Lax, Neville & Intelisano, LLP, where he focuses on securities and commercial litigation, arbitration, and financial regulatory matters. His extensive experience includes representing individual investors, hedge funds, brokerage firms, and registered representatives in both arbitration (FINRA, AAA, and JAMS) and state and federal court proceedings.

Before joining his current firm, Sam was a Partner at Kaufmann Gildin & Robbins LLP for 13 years. During this time, he collaborated closely with David E. Robbins, renowned for authoring the "Securities Arbitration Procedures Manual," a seminal text in the field.

Sam has successfully recovered tens of millions of dollars for clients who suffered from financial misconduct, including unsuitable recommendations, unauthorized trading, securities fraud, Ponzi schemes, and municipal bond fraud. His practice also involves handling cases of improper margin liquidations, theft of account assets, excessive trading, and breaches of fiduciary duty in fee-based managed accounts. He has represented hedge funds in multi-million-dollar disputes with prime brokers over portfolio margin miscalculations and improper margin liquidations. Additionally, Sam advocates for registered representatives and financial advisors in matters of breach of contract, compensation disputes, and Form U-5 expungements.

Prior to his legal career, Sam gained over four years of experience as a registered financial advisor at two wealth management firms. This background in the securities industry enhances his ability to effectively represent employees and investors facing adverse situations.

Sam is an active member of the Public Investors Advocate Bar Association (PIABA) and has been recognized as one of the New York Super Lawyers Rising Stars, an accolade awarded to less than 2.5% of attorneys in the state.
