Ann Christine Barcher

Ann Christine Barcher is a dedicated immigration attorney with a rich history in assisting individuals and families navigate the complexities of U.S. immigration law. Her journey began when she and her mother adopted a Chinese refugee family from Vietnam, inspiring her to pursue a career in immigration law. Newly admitted to the New York Bar, she helped her family members achieve U.S. citizenship and guided others through the immigration process.

For over 25 years, Ann has focused primarily on immigration law, practicing in Dutchess County, NY, and New York City as the managing partner of Barcher & Imam, P.C.. Her clients hail from all corners of the globe, representing a wide range of religious, ethnic, and economic backgrounds.

Ann's educational journey began at Poughkeepsie High School, followed by her studies at Harvard-Radcliffe in Cambridge, MA, where she majored in Government. She furthered her education at NYU School of Law, earning both a J.D. and an LL.M. in International Legal Studies. Ann also spent a year at Harvard Divinity School, exploring Buddhism and comparative religion and ethics. Her early career included eight years with the Port Authority of NY & NJ, focusing on real estate and appellate practice.

In 1992, Ann returned to her roots in Poughkeepsie, where she has since dedicated herself to immigration law, driven by a passion to help others achieve their dreams of legal status in the U.S.
