Lori Somekh

Lori Somekh is a well-respected attorney based in Queens Village, New York, specializing in elder law. She is committed to addressing her clients' needs, particularly those concerning health and wealth. Ms. Somekh has extensive experience in guardianship cases, where she has served as a court evaluator, court-appointed counsel, temporary guardian, and guardian-ad-litem. Her legal expertise extends to her role as a Judicial Hearing Officer for the State of New York, where she handled appeals related to real property tax reductions.

Before establishing her successful elder advocacy practice, Ms. Somekh held the position of assistant vice president at First Northern Mortgagee Corp. She also gained valuable experience as an associate at Cullen & Dykman, one of New York City's oldest and most prestigious law firms.

Ms. Somekh graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1981 and earned her law degree from St. John’s University School of Law. Her professional affiliations are extensive, including membership in the New York State Bar Association’s Elder Law and Real Estate Sections, the Queens County Bar Association’s Elderly and Disabled Committee, and Steering Committee on Fiduciary Appointments. Additionally, she is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), Yashar (the attorneys' and judges' Chapter of Hadassah), and the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York. Ms. Somekh is also conversant in Spanish and serves on the Executive Committee of the Elder Law Section of the NYS Bar Association as the Queens Delegate.
