Michelle Dewkett-Kochhar

Michelle Dewkett-Kochhar is a passionate attorney with a focus on workers’ compensation law, deeply committed to aiding the Spanish-speaking community in Alamance County, North Carolina. After earning her law degree from Campbell University’s Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law in 2019, she successfully passed the North Carolina Bar Exam that summer.

Originally from Rhinebeck, New York, Dewkett-Kochhar moved to Raleigh to pursue her education at North Carolina State University, where she obtained a B.A. in International Studies and a minor in Spanish. Her legal journey began in law school, where she served as a research assistant and interned at the Wake County Public Defender’s Office, a personal injury law firm, and the Battered Immigrant Project of Legal Aid North Carolina.

During her internships, Dewkett-Kochhar utilized her Spanish language skills to effectively communicate with Spanish-speaking clients, igniting her passion for inclusivity in the legal field. She later joined firms that focus on assisting the Spanish-speaking community, further developing her expertise in workers’ compensation and refining her language abilities to guide clients through legal processes.

At Hardison & Cochran, Dewkett-Kochhar aspires to continue her work with the Spanish-speaking community, leveraging her skills to support clients in navigating the complexities of workers’ compensation cases. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Dashiell Kochhar, and their pets. A devoted New Yorker at heart, she also cherishes her love for the New York Yankees during the MLB season.
