In 1993, he received his Juris Doctor from the UNC School of Law.

He co-edited the authoritative resource, 'North Carolina Workers’ Compensation Law: A Practical Guide to Success at Every Stage of a Claim,' published by LexisNexis in collaboration with the North Carolina Advocates for Justice.
