About Anthony Ryan Morrow
Anthony Ryan Morrow began his career in service at the age of 17 by enlisting in the U.S. Navy as a Yeoman. Throughout his military tenure, he deployed twice to the Middle East and once to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, eventually retiring from the JAG Corps. As a JAG officer, he prosecuted numerous courts-martial and provided counsel on significant contracts and environmental projects.
After obtaining his law degree, Anthony launched his civilian legal career at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in Chicago, which is the nation's second-largest prosecutor’s office. Over 18 months, he managed 10 to 30 hearings daily, focusing on child abuse and neglect cases in the Child Protective Services Division, ranging from emergency custody hearings to the termination of parental rights. During this period, he benefited from mentorship by seasoned prosecutors dedicated to nurturing the next generation of trial attorneys.
Seeking to broaden his legal expertise, Anthony relocated to San Diego to earn an LL.M. in Trial Advocacy, emphasizing federal criminal defense. While pursuing this degree, he interned with a leading Criminal Justice Act (CJA) attorney, assisting clients facing serious federal charges.
Upon completing his LL.M., Anthony attended the CJA Trial Skills Academy, an intensive, week-long program led by federal defenders and top private practitioners. Participants presented defense cases for critique, with each session recorded for detailed feedback. This rigorous training honed Anthony's litigation skills and deepened his commitment to delivering client-focused advocacy in the courtroom.
