Jacob Ehrmann

Jacob Ehrmann is the founding attorney at Montford Family Law, a firm dedicated exclusively to family law matters in Asheville, North Carolina. Originally known as Ehrmann Law Office, the firm is a collaboration between Jacob Ehrmann and Alex Gomes. Jacob earned his undergraduate degree with honors in Public Policy Analysis, focusing on race and gender issues, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1995. He then completed his J.D. at the UNC School of Law in 1999.

In 2000, Jacob began his legal career at Pisgah Legal Services, where he concentrated on representing victims of domestic violence. Since 2004, he has been in private practice and is recognized as a NC Board Certified Specialist in Family Law. Additionally, he is a Certified Mediator for Family Financial Cases.

Jacob is actively involved in the North Carolina Bar Association and resides in Asheville, North Carolina. His partner, Alex Gomes, also a NC Board Certified Specialist in Family Law, handles various family law-related cases. Alex graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Florida in 2001 and obtained his J.D. from the North Carolina Central University School of Law in 2006.

Alex's career includes five years at Pisgah Legal Services with the Mountain Violence Prevention Project before joining Ehrmann Law Office, P.A. in January 2012. Notably, in 2011, he was appointed by the Governor to the North Carolina Council for Women Board, becoming the first male member. Alex also serves on the Board of Directors for My Sister's Place, a domestic violence and sexual assault agency in Madison County. He lives in Asheville with his family.
