Patrick McCroskey

Patrick McCroskey, based in Asheville, North Carolina, is a distinguished Board Certified Specialist in Family Law and a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. His practice is dedicated to complex family law issues, particularly those involving separation and divorce. As a Certified Family Financial Mediator, Patrick provides mediation services to other family law attorneys and their clients, and serves the community as a Buncombe County Certified Parenting Coordinator.

Patrick has been acknowledged by Best Lawyers in America since 2007 and was honored as the Family Law Lawyer of the Year for Asheville in 2015, 2017, and 2020. He has appeared on the North Carolina Super Lawyers master list since 2012, after being featured in their Rising Stars category in 2009 and 2010. Since 2010, Patrick has held the AV Preeminent Peer Rated Lawyer designation by Martindale Hubbell, and he has been part of the Business North Carolina Legal Elite since 2012, with continuous recognition from 2014.

Throughout his career, Patrick has contributed significantly to the legal profession, participating in legal governance. He is a long-standing member of the North Carolina Bar Association and its Family Law Section, where he has served on the Family Law Council. Locally, he is an active member of the 28th Judicial District Bar and has served on its Executive Committee, as well as various committees at both state and local levels.

A frequent speaker, Patrick has presented on family law topics at continuing education seminars for the North Carolina Bar Association. As a native of Western North Carolina, he has given back to his community by serving on the Board of Directors for the Buncombe County Visitation Center, working as a Rape Awareness and Prevention Educator, and teaching Youth Martial Arts Jiu-Jitsu and Women’s Self Defense classes.

In his personal time, Patrick enjoys outdoor activities and is passionate about extreme sports.
