Sara Ellen Barlowe

Sara Barlowe is an associate attorney at Bagwell Holt Smith, where she focuses on Family Law. She joined the firm in July 2020 after moving to the Research Triangle area from Astoria, Queens, along with her family and their two cats. Her legal experience includes serving as an Assistant District Attorney with the Bronx District Attorney’s office, where she concentrated on domestic violence and special victims cases. Additionally, Sara spent a year in the Special Investigations Division, conducting long-term wiretap investigations.

Sara earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City. During her time there, she was a Staff Editor for the Cardozo Journal of International and Comparative Law and worked as a teaching and research assistant in property law. She was also selected for the prestigious Alexander Fellowship program, allowing her to serve as a full-time judicial intern for the Honorable Judge Preska of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York for an academic semester.
