About Mr. Douglas A. Petho
Douglas A. Petho has been an integral part of the firm since 1993, specializing in plaintiff’s personal injury litigation. A native of the Charlotte area, he holds a Bachelor of Science in the Administration of Criminal Justice from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1988) and earned his law degree from the same institution in 1991.
Mr. Petho launched his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in North Carolina's 1st Judicial District, where he prosecuted misdemeanor and felony cases across a seven-county region under the Hon. H.P. Williams. His extensive trial experience includes hundreds of jury verdicts in cases involving automobile, trucking, and pedestrian accidents, as well as slip and fall incidents, animal attacks, intentional torts, and work-related accidents.
In addition to his litigation work, Mr. Petho has contributed to the legal community as a representative on the Mecklenburg County District Court Rules Committee and as an arbitrator in insurance disputes. His professional excellence was recognized in 2011 with an “AV Preeminent” rating by Martindale Hubbell.
Mr. Petho is actively involved with the North Carolina Advocates for Justice and holds membership in both the Personal Injury and Workers Compensation Division. He is also affiliated with the North Carolina State Bar, North Carolina Bar Association, and Mecklenburg County Bar Association.
Outside of his professional life, Mr. Petho is married with two daughters, and they are active members of Saint Matthew Catholic Church.
