Paul Tharp

Paul Tharp, originally from Chicago, pursued his undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where he excelled academically, graduating magna cum laude with a degree in English and a minor in Philosophy. He furthered his education at UNC-Chapel Hill Law School, participating in the Moot Court Invitational Team. After successfully passing the Bar Exams in both Florida and North Carolina, he established his practice in Charlotte.

At Arnold & Smith, PLLC, Mr. Tharp concentrates on personal injury, dog bites, workers' compensation, civil rights cases, post-conviction relief petitions and appeals, civil and criminal appeals, and car-crash cases. His practice largely serves the Charlotte metropolitan area and North Carolina Federal District Courts, though he occasionally handles cases beyond Mecklenburg County.

Mr. Tharp is a proficient trial attorney, having conducted bench and jury trials in both state and federal courts across North Carolina. He has also authored appeals and petitions for civil and criminal cases presented to the United States Supreme Court, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and various federal and state courts within North Carolina. His courtroom experience spans numerous counties and districts throughout the state.
