Joseph Christopher DeMartin

Joseph Christopher DeMartin is an attorney with Hardison & Cochran, Attorneys at Law in Cumberland County, North Carolina, where he feels a strong connection to his roots. DeMartin's journey with the firm began during his time at Campbell Law School in Raleigh, where he contributed by writing motions and assisting in the call center.

DeMartin graduated from the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University in 2018, and successfully passed the North Carolina Bar Exam in 2019. As the first attorney in his family, DeMartin proudly represents his family's aspirations, a sentiment shared by his grandfather. His interest in law was evident from a young age, where he was known as the 'family debater.'

An avid soccer enthusiast, DeMartin played at Green Hope High School in Cary and continued as a Division III soccer player at Waynesburg University. He later transferred to Appalachian State University to be closer to his family, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice in 2015.

DeMartin was awarded one of 123 Juris Doctor degrees at Campbell Law's 40th annual graduation ceremony in 2018. He was part of a cohort that achieved a 92 percent first-time pass rate on the North Carolina Bar Exam, the highest in nearly a decade.

During his academic career, DeMartin interned at both a real estate law firm and a criminal and family law firm, gaining experience in child neglect and juvenile cases. At Hardison & Cochran, he focuses on securing workers’ compensation benefits for injured clients, a role he finds fulfilling.
