Julie Vergara

Julie Vergara has been passionate about law since childhood, driven by a desire to improve lives and guide clients through legal challenges. In 2024, she joined the Deuterman Law Group as an associate attorney, specializing in workers' compensation at the Winston-Salem office. Her practice centers on aiding Spanish-speaking clients who have suffered work-related injuries.

Julie's journey into law was inspired by an attorney's impactful work for her family, who immigrated from Colombia during her childhood. She graduated from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2019, after earning a B.A. in criminology from Pennsylvania State University in 2016.

Her career includes diverse experience with complex legal issues. Prior to her current role, she served as an intake attorney in Durham, assessing personal injury, auto accident, and workers' compensation cases. Her advocacy extends to representing domestic violence victims and refugees seeking asylum, through collaborations with Legal Aid of North Carolina and Human Rights First in New York.

Julie's personal experiences, including family ties to the construction industry and recovering from a knee injury and ACL surgery, have deepened her empathy for clients. She is dedicated to ensuring justice, compensation, and medical care for her clients, treating them with compassion and respect while simplifying the legal process.
