Jacob A Goad

Jacob A. Goad is a seasoned attorney at the Law Office of Jacob Goad, PLLC, focusing on workers’ compensation and personal injury law. He graduated from the University of North Carolina (UNC) Chapel Hill, where he majored in Spanish and minored in Social and Economic Justice, earning membership in Sigma Delta Pi, a Hispanic Collegiate Honor Society.

Following his undergraduate studies, Mr. Goad spent time in Peru engaging in environmental advocacy and coordinating international delegations. His work included collaborating with CNN producers and Dr. Sanjay Gupta in La Oroya, a town affected by a metallurgical smelter. This experience significantly influenced his choice to pursue workers’ compensation law, motivated by his interactions with metallurgical and mine workers.

Upon returning to the United States, Mr. Goad completed his law degree at North Carolina Central University’s Evening Law Program, balancing his studies with full-time work as a paralegal in North Carolina injury law firms. During law school, he met his wife, Kelly, a speech therapist in Durham.

Over the past eleven years, Mr. Goad has devoted his career to assisting individuals seriously injured in workplace and automobile accidents. He has also been active in nonprofit work, serving on various boards, including as Chair of the Young Lawyers Division for the Durham County Bar Association. Currently, he is the Secretary of the Executive Committees for Urban Ministries of Durham and the Legislative Committee Chair of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the North Carolina Bar Association.
