Joel Jackson Hardison

Joel Jackson Hardison joined Hardison & Cochran in 2008, bringing with him a wealth of experience from his previous roles defending insurance companies in Workers Compensation cases. This background provides him with unique insights that he now uses to advocate for injured and disabled workers. His preference for representing individuals is clear through his dedicated practice.

Hardison earned a B.A. degree in journalism from the University of North Carolina in 1999 and a J.D. from the UNC School of Law in 2004. During law school, he was a member of the Holderness Moot Court team and was recognized on the Dean’s List.

Before joining Hardison & Cochran, Hardison gained valuable experience at two insurance law firms in Charlotte and Raleigh. As a partner at Hardison & Cochran, he handles all aspects of Workers Compensation cases, from initial filings to appeals, including those reaching federal district court. Notably, he achieved a $3.5 million recovery for a client paralyzed on the job, a case recognized by North Carolina Lawyers Weekly in 2015.

Hardison is a Board Certified Specialist in Workers Compensation Law, certified by the North Carolina Bar Association. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys time with his family, including his young daughter and son, and is an avid supporter of University of North Carolina sports.
