Joseph Christopher DeMartin

For Joseph Christopher DeMartin, joining Hardison & Cochran, Attorneys at Law marks a meaningful return. During his time at Campbell Law School in Raleigh, he contributed to the firm by writing motions and assisting in the call center.

DeMartin earned his Juris Doctor from the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University in 2018 and successfully passed the North Carolina Bar Exam in 2019. A native of Washington, N.C., he is the first attorney in his family, a milestone that brought pride to his grandfather. DeMartin's interest in law was evident from a young age, as he was known for his debating skills within the family.

His academic journey began at Green Hope High School in Cary, where he excelled in soccer. He played Division III soccer at Waynesburg University in Pennsylvania before transferring to Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C., to be closer to his family. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice in 2015.

At Campbell Law, DeMartin was one of 123 graduates in 2018, contributing to the school's impressive 92 percent first-time pass rate on the North Carolina Bar Exam, the highest in nearly a decade. During his studies, he interned at both a real estate law firm and a criminal and family law firm, gaining experience in child neglect and juvenile cases.

DeMartin has expressed his satisfaction working at Hardison & Cochran, where he focuses on helping clients secure workers' compensation benefits for injuries.
