About Mark Lee Hearp

Mark Lee Hearp joined the Beaver Courie Law Firm on November 10, 2003, and became a partner in 2008. His extensive practice encompasses all levels of criminal defense, such as traffic violations, speeding tickets, misdemeanors, felonies, driving while impaired offenses, and federal charges.

Before his tenure at the firm, Mark served as an Assistant District Attorney in Cumberland County, North Carolina, for over two years. During this time, he prosecuted hundreds of driving while impaired and other traffic offenses, as well as major felony cases. These included drug offenses, child sexual assaults, armed robberies, breaking and entering, larcenies, rapes, habitual offenses, and embezzlement.

Mark earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1998 and his Juris Doctor from Campbell University School of Law in 2001, the same year he was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar. At Campbell, he was an elected representative in the Student Bar Association, a member of Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity, and received several top academic honors.

Throughout his career, Mark has received numerous accolades. In 2013, he was recognized as a “Top 40 under 40” Trial Lawyer in North Carolina by the National Trial Lawyers Association. From 2013 to 2017, the National Advocacy of DUI Defense named him among the “Top 100 DWI Lawyers in North Carolina.” Additionally, he was voted “Best Lawyer” in the Fayetteville Observer's Reader’s Choice in 2010, and in 2017, “Best Traffic Ticket Attorney” by Up and Coming Weekly’s Best of Fayetteville.
