Michelle Dewkett-Kochhar

Michelle Dewkett-Kochhar is an accomplished attorney specializing in workers’ compensation law at Hardison & Cochran. Her journey into this field began after exploring personal injury, workers’ compensation, and criminal defense law following her graduation from the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University in 2019. That same year, she successfully passed the North Carolina Bar Exam.

Originally from Rhinebeck, New York, Dewkett-Kochhar moved to Raleigh to pursue her education at North Carolina State University, where she earned a B.A. in International Studies with a minor in Spanish. Her academic background laid a strong foundation for her legal career, particularly in serving Spanish-speaking clients.

During her time in law school, Dewkett-Kochhar gained valuable experience as a research assistant and intern. She worked with the Wake County Public Defender’s Office, a personal injury law firm, and the Battered Immigrant Project of Legal Aid North Carolina. These roles allowed her to effectively use her Spanish language skills to assist clients and foster her commitment to inclusivity in the legal profession.

Dewkett-Kochhar's professional journey continued as she joined firms dedicated to aiding the Spanish-speaking community. Her focus on workers’ compensation law deepened, and she honed her skills to guide Spanish-speaking clients through complex legal processes. She is enthusiastic about continuing this work in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Outside her legal practice, Dewkett-Kochhar enjoys spending time with her husband, Dashiell Kochhar, and their pets. A devoted New York Yankees fan, she maintains her connection to her New York roots, especially during the MLB season.
