William Richardson

William O. “Billy” Richardson has been a prominent figure in the North Carolina legal community since his bar admission in 1980. Renowned for his vigorous advocacy, he has successfully represented clients in high-profile cases before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and the North Carolina Supreme Court.

William's bar admissions include North Carolina (1980), the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit (1985), and the Supreme Court of the United States (2004). He earned his J.D. from Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law in 1980 and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1977.

Among his notable cases is State v. Hennis, a landmark decision by the North Carolina Supreme Court in 1988. William's excellence in the legal field is recognized by his inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America and his selection as a Super Lawyer from 2008 to 2011, alongside an AV Preeminent rating.
