About Casey Spence
Casey Spence has been an integral part of the Deuterman Law Group since 2011, starting as an associate attorney after roles as a law clerk and new client coordinator. Her focus is on workers' compensation law, where she is among the few board-certified specialists in North Carolina.
Casey leads cases for Spanish-speaking clients, particularly undocumented workers, leveraging her extensive experience to advocate effectively for their rights. Her expertise is widely recognized, and she frequently shares her knowledge at Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminars for the N.C. Advocates for Justice. Casey has also organized a CLE on workers' compensation for the N.C. Bar Association.
Fluent in Spanish, Modern Standard, and Egyptian Arabic, Casey is a valuable asset to her clients. Her commitment extends beyond her legal practice into community service, notably with animal rescue groups and mission work through her church.
Raised in Raleigh, Casey moved to the Triad during her teenage years and attended Northwest High School in Greensboro. She graduated magna cum laude from N.C. State in 2008 with degrees in Spanish and International Politics and a minor in Middle Eastern Studies. She earned her juris doctor with honors from the UNC School of Law in 2011, the same year she was admitted to the N.C. State Bar.
Casey is the vice president and a founding member of the N.C. Association of Women Attorneys’ Piedmont Triad Chapter. She also serves as a council member for the Workers’ Compensation Section of the N.C. Bar Association and is a member of the N.C. Advocates for Justice.
