Kara K. Goodman

Kara K. Goodman is a seasoned attorney specializing in family law, practicing in Matthews, North Carolina. Her early exposure to family law, stemming from her parents' divorce, inspired her to pursue a legal career focused on this field. Kara earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of North Carolina at Asheville, with a major in psychology and a minor in sociology, before obtaining her Juris Doctorate in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Kara began her career at a small law firm in Concord, North Carolina, where she spent two years honing her skills in civil and criminal litigation. Her first family law trial, which resulted in a favorable custody outcome for her client, solidified her commitment to family law. This passion led her to join one of the largest domestic law firms in the country, where she spent over nine years advocating for fathers and husbands in family law cases.

In addition to her practice, Kara has served as a mentor to other family law attorneys and has taught family law and trial skills to hundreds of attorneys nationwide. After more than a decade in practice, she founded The Goodman Law Firm, continuing her dedication to family law.
