Richard Edward Edinger

Since childhood, Richard Edinger has called Fargo, North Dakota, home. He completed his Bachelor of Science in political science at North Dakota State University in 1991 and earned his Juris Doctor, graduating cum laude, from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in January 1996.

Mr. Edinger has dedicated over two decades to the practice of criminal defense, with a particular emphasis on DUI defense. His career began with a role as a public defender for Cass County, North Dakota, from July 2001 to January 2006.

Throughout his career, Mr. Edinger has defended thousands of criminal cases, including hundreds of DUI cases, and has successfully handled driving under suspension, drug, sexual assault, domestic violence, and murder cases. He stands out as one of the few criminal defense attorneys in the area with a successful jury trial record, achieving 12 acquittals and two hung juries out of 24 trials. His appellate experience is also notable, with over 45 appeals under his belt.

Recognized by the National Trial Lawyers and The National Advocacy for DUI Defense, Mr. Edinger is esteemed for his qualifications and experience. He also contributes to the legal community by lecturing on DUI law for Lorman Education Services.

Mr. Edinger is admitted to practice in the State of North Dakota, the United States District Court for North Dakota, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
