About James Frederick Hausen
James Frederick Hausen is a distinguished litigation professional with a robust background in both accounting and law. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting with honors from the University of Akron in 1996, successfully passing the CPA exam in Ohio on his first attempt—a notable achievement given the less than 30% pass rate at the time.
From 1996 to 1998, Mr. Hausen worked in accounting while pursuing his M.B.A., which he completed in 1998. This academic accomplishment set the stage for his legal education, culminating in a Juris Doctor and Master of Taxation from the University of Akron School of Law in 2001. He passed the Ohio bar exam on his first try, further demonstrating his expertise.
Following his graduation, Mr. Hausen served as a job cost manager at a construction company from 2001 to 2005. In 2005, he transitioned to one of Ohio's largest bankruptcy law firms, where he applied his accounting and legal skills to directly supervise or file hundreds of bankruptcy cases.
In 2008, Mr. Hausen joined the Chapter 13 Trustee Office in Canton, Ohio. There, he was instrumental in preparing and reviewing financial statements and assisting in the review of thousands of cases. By 2011, he partnered with Lawyer John Bates to establish a law practice dedicated to leveraging his extensive experience in accounting and law to assist clients across Northeast Ohio in filing for bankruptcy.
