Thom L. Cooper

With more than thirty years of dedicated service, Thom L. Cooper established the law firm that evolved into Cooper, Adel, Vu & Associates, aiming to empower seniors by enhancing their independence while reducing stress on their families. Throughout Ohio, he has conducted numerous educational seminars focusing on estate planning and elder law, guiding thousands of seniors and their families in securing public benefits to safeguard their assets.

Thom Cooper was among the pioneering attorneys in Ohio to achieve dual certification as a Certified Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation and as a Specialist in Elder Law by the Ohio Bar Association. He was part of the inaugural group certified by NELF in 1995. His professional excellence is recognized with a “Superb” rating from Avvo, reflecting his years of specialization, clean disciplinary record, notable professional accomplishments, and industry recognition.

In addition to his work with seniors, Attorney Cooper is committed to assisting veterans and their surviving spouses. He is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims and holds accreditation from the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Thom Cooper is an alumnus of Allegheny College, earned a PhD from The Ohio State University, and received his Juris Doctorate from Capital University. He has served as past president of the American Association of Trust, Estate and Elder Law Attorneys, an exclusive national association, and is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.
