Monica Denise DeRamus

Before establishing Monica D. DeRamus, LLC in Canton, Ohio, Monica Denise DeRamus gained valuable experience as a counsel in Cleveland, OH, assisting local businesses with business formation, contract drafting, and contract review. Her solo practice primarily involved domestic relations law, juvenile law, and contract-related services.

Currently, Monica concentrates her practice on estate planning, bankruptcy, and supporting small business owners with their legal needs. She pursued her law degree at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University, where she was actively involved with the Black Law Student Association and contributed as a student research assistant on the issue of abandoned babies born during prom.

Monica holds an undergraduate degree in marketing from Chancellor University. After graduating from Cleveland-Marshall, she completed a summer law internship at Phillips Medical System in Cleveland, OH. Motivated by the challenges faced by individuals released from Ohio prisons, she founded a non-profit organization to assist with criminal record expungement.

Having recently relocated her practice to Canton, Monica enjoys reading, writing, painting, and other creative pursuits in her free time. She has also engaged in forums aimed at expanding Ohio’s expungement law to enhance opportunities for those who no longer pose a public risk.
