James S. Sweeney, the founder and managing member of James Sweeney Law, LLC, has deep roots in Central Ohio, having been born in Columbus and raised in Marysville. Before establishing his own firm, James gained valuable experience at the Franklin County Prosecuting Counsel’s Office. During law school, he honed his legal skills at the Reynoldsburg City Counsel’s Office, serving as a Prosecutor in the Reynoldsburg Mayor’s Court, and also worked at the Ohio Attorney General’s Office.
In addition to his prosecutorial roles, James has served as the Village Solicitor of Alexandria, Ohio. Prior to his legal education, he spent several years in Washington, D.C., where he worked on Capitol Hill for U.S. Senator John Breaux and interned for Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist.
James completed his legal education at Capital University Law School in 2010. He is an alumnus of Marysville High School, graduating in 1999, and earned his degree in History from Ohio University in 2003.
