Growing up in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Zachary's interest in law was sparked by a school trip to the State House, where he observed legislative debates affecting people's lives. He pursued his legal education at Capital University Law School, gaining valuable experience clerking with the county prosecutor's office.

After completing law school, Zachary embarked on a career in criminal defense, spending 17 years with the Franklin County Public Defenders Office. Here, he collaborated with exceptional attorneys and staff who inspired his dedication to client advocacy. As Zachary states, "There is no political agenda in defense work.
