John Markus

John Markus is an accomplished attorney at Leeseberg Tuttle, where he has been serving as an associate counsel since October 2015. His focus areas include medical errors and personal injury law, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to his practice.

John's legal journey began at the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where he honed his litigation skills and actively participated in the Trial Specialty and Moot Court teams. His contributions to the moot court program earned him the University Award, and he was inducted into the Order of the Barristers for his outstanding oral and written advocacy.

Before law school, John graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The Ohio State University in 2011. His academic excellence was recognized with his inclusion on the Dean's List.

John's practical experience includes clerking for Judge Ethna M. Cooper at the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas and working with the Ohio Innocence Project, where he played a role in the exoneration of Ricky Jackson, the longest-serving wrongfully convicted individual in U.S. history.

He is admitted to the Ohio Bar since 2015 and has contributed to legal literature with a publication in Baldwin's Ohio Practice: Tort Law 2d. John's commitment to pro bono work is evident through his involvement with the Ohio Innocence Project and coaching high school mock trials. He is also the Co-Founder and Vice President of the Gifts for Good Foundation.

John is an active member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Columbus Bar Association, and the Ohio Association of Justice. He serves as the Medical Malpractice Committee Chair and is a sustaining member since 2021.
