Paulette Francine Balin

Paulette Francine Balin began her legal career in 1978 after earning her law degree from Washington University in St. Louis. Raised in Timberlake, Ohio, she graduated magna cum laude from Case Western Reserve University and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa in 1975. She is admitted to the Ohio Bar (1978) and the Florida Bar (1980).

In 1980, Paulette established her practice in Cleveland, Ohio, focusing on Social Security Disability, SSI, and Long-Term Disability claims. Her litigation experience spans a wide range of physical and mental health issues, including arthritis, depression, fibromyalgia, and more uncommon conditions like Lyme disease and trigeminal neuralgia.

Paulette has argued cases at all administrative and Federal Court levels, including the Federal 6th Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati, contributing to significant legal precedents for disability rights. She is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the Ohio and Florida Supreme Courts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio.

As a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, Lake County Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association, Florida Bar Association, and a Sustaining Member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR), Paulette is actively involved in the legal community. She frequently speaks to attorneys, physicians, and mental health professionals about disability law.
