Joshua Adam Engel

Joshua Adam Engel began his legal career in 2001 as an Assistant District Attorney in Middlesex County, Massachusetts. By 2002, he transitioned to Ohio, where he served as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Warren County under Judge Rachel Hutzel. During his tenure, Engel managed some of the county's most complex and high-profile cases, including death penalty cases that gained national attention on programs like 48 Hours.

In Warren County, Engel advanced to lead the appellate division. In this role, he not only managed appeals but also crafted amicus curiae briefs for the Ohio Supreme Court and the United States Supreme Court, often at the request of state and national law enforcement organizations.

From 2007 to 2010, Engel was the Chief Legal Counsel for the Ohio Department of Public Safety. In this capacity, he provided legal guidance to develop a comprehensive state strategy focused on public safety and security.

Prior to his prosecutorial work, Engel started his career at Choate, Hall & Stewart, a distinguished Boston law firm. There, he represented clients in complex litigation in both federal and state courts, as well as in ADR proceedings. He was entrusted with significant litigation matters involving millions of dollars for major corporations like Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, and Travelers.
