Mark E Walraven

Mark E. Walraven is a dedicated trial lawyer who specializes in assisting mineral owners with oil & gas negotiations, leasing, sales, and litigation. He is committed to securing optimal terms for Oklahoma mineral owners in oil & gas leases and sales agreements. Over the past three years, Mark and the G&W Oil & Gas Team have successfully negotiated more than 1,800 leases and mineral sales, generating over $120 million in lease bonuses and sales proceeds for their clients. Mark also provides expertise in reviewing and negotiating lease assignments, division orders, royalty payment issues, and resolving title defects.

In the realm of litigation, Mark focuses on oil & gas lease cancellation and royalty deduction disputes. He assists royalty owners in releasing minerals held by non-productive wells and ensures royalty payments comply with lease agreements. When discrepancies arise, Mark actively pursues recovery of improper royalty deductions.

Mark's journey began in San Antonio, Texas. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas in Austin in 2002. Following graduation, Mark enlisted in the United States Army, serving in the airborne infantry and later as an officer in the armored scouts, including a combat tour in Iraq as a Scout Platoon Leader. After his military service, Mark attended law school at Baylor University in Waco, where he met Chaille Graft. The couple married in 2011 and moved to Clinton, Oklahoma, in 2012 to practice law with Chaille’s father, C.B. Graft. Together, Mark and Chaille have three sons, Jackson, Christian, and Elias. In his free time, Mark enjoys serving at Life Church in Edmond, scuba diving, playing fantasy football, and spending time outdoors with his family.
