S. Douglas Elliott

S. Douglas Elliott has dedicated more than 25 years to representing military personnel in various legal matters, ranging from divorce and administrative hearings to serious criminal cases, including murder trials. His extensive experience is complemented by four years as the Executive Director of Veterans Affairs, where he managed seven nursing homes, equipping him with unique insights into navigating both criminal and civil legal challenges.

Elliott's expertise has been sought by state legislators to craft legislation protecting the custodial rights of deployed parents, ensuring these rights are preserved or appropriately transferred during deployment. His legal acumen is further demonstrated by securing acquittals in a murder trial and two other cases involving potential life sentences.

Prior to his distinguished career in private practice, Elliott served as a prosecutor in the District Attorney's office following his tenure as a Judge Advocate in the Army. He continued his military service in the National Guard, ultimately retiring with the rank of Brigadier General.
