Mark E Walraven

Mark E. Walraven is a distinguished trial lawyer based in Guthrie, Oklahoma, focusing on oil & gas negotiations, leasing, sales, and litigation. Mark is dedicated to assisting mineral owners in Oklahoma by negotiating favorable oil & gas leases and sales agreements. Over the past three years, he and the G&W Oil & Gas Team have successfully negotiated over 1800 leases and mineral sales, achieving in excess of $120 million in lease bonuses and sales proceeds for their clients. His expertise also extends to reviewing and negotiating lease assignments, handling division orders, addressing royalty payment issues, and resolving title defects.

In litigation, Mark primarily deals with oil & gas lease cancellation and royalty deduction disputes. He aids royalty owners in releasing minerals held by non-productive wells and ensures compliance with lease terms in royalty payments. When discrepancies arise, he pursues the recovery of unauthorized royalty deductions.

Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Mark completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas in Austin in 2002. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army, serving in the airborne infantry and later commissioning as an officer in the armored scouts. His military service includes a combat tour in Iraq as a Scout Platoon Leader.

After his military career, Mark attended law school at Baylor University in Waco, where he met his future wife, Chaille Graft. The couple married in 2011 and relocated to Clinton, Oklahoma in 2012 to practice law alongside Chaille’s father, C.B. Graft. Together, Mark and Chaille have three sons: Jackson, Christian, and Elias. In his free time, Mark enjoys participating in activities at Life Church in Edmond, scuba diving, playing fantasy football, and spending time outdoors with his family.
