Timothy Burns

Tim Burns has been operating his regional general law practice in the historic town of Ebensburg, Cambria County, for nearly ten years. His office is strategically situated near the Cambria County Courthouse, offering convenient access to legal resources. Originally from Johnstown, Mr. Burns obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science and Secondary Education from St. Vincent College in Latrobe and his Juris Doctorate from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. During his time at Duquesne, he held the position of Editor-in-Chief for Juris, the institution's acclaimed courtroom newsmagazine.

Before establishing his own practice, Mr. Burns gained valuable experience as an Associate at the Johnstown firm of Spence, Custer, Saylor, Wolfe & Rose. He further honed his legal skills working as a Judicial Law Clerk for Cambria County Judges Thomas A. Swope, Jr., and James R. DiFrancesco, where he contributed to the drafting of numerous decisions and orders.

Since founding his law office, Mr. Burns has garnered multiple accolades, including being named an “Up and Comer 35 and Under” by Johnstown Magazine and “Success by 35” by Johnstown Business Weekly. In 2008, he was listed among “The Top 100” business leaders by Central Pennsylvania Business Weekly. Additionally, from 2005 to 2009, he was recognized as a “Rising Legal Star Under 40” by Philadelphia Magazine and Law and Politics Magazine. His commitment to community service earned him the Cambria County Bar Association’s President’s Award in 2005, and he was frequently nominated as “Simply the Best Legal Professional” by readers of the Johnstown Tribune-Democrat from 2006 through 2010 and again in 2012 and 2013.

In 2011, Mr. Burns was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court. He actively participates in several legal organizations, having served four years on the Board of Managers of the Cambria County Bar Association and a three-year term on the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Board of Governors, where he chaired the Young Lawyers Division.
