Gregory H. Mathews

Gregory H. Mathews is a highly experienced lawyer with a focus on complex commercial litigation and corporate counseling. He began his career serving as Special Counsel to the Office of Disclosure Policy at the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C., where he was involved in the Corporate Governance Project and co-authored the Staff Report on Corporate Accountability presented to the U.S. Senate in 1980.

In his subsequent private practice, Greg led the securities law division of a prominent Philadelphia law firm. His work included handling public and private securities offerings, advising on Securities Exchange Act compliance, and defending corporate officers and directors in securities litigation and SEC investigations.

From 1994 to 2004, Greg worked with Wachovia Corporation and its predecessor bank holding companies as Senior Vice President and Assistant General Counsel. He managed a diverse litigation docket of over 300 cases, encompassing class actions, employment, contract, and trust administration disputes, as well as SEC and NASD claims.

Returning to private practice in 2004, Greg has focused on resolving business disputes, including civil RICO and business torts. He is also a frequent lecturer on corporate, securities, and litigation topics and provides employment counseling to protect confidential information.
