Shawn M. Stottlemyer

Shawn M. Stottlemyer serves as a partner at Mooney Law, where he is a key member of the Mooney Capital Region Criminal Defense team. With extensive experience in criminal defense, Shawn is known for his willingness to tackle complex cases head-on. His approach to litigation has earned him respect as a leading criminal defense attorney in the region.

Before joining Mooney Law, Shawn practiced as a solo attorney in State College, PA, focusing on criminal defense, family law, and estate planning. His career also includes serving as independent legal counsel for Penn State, representing students facing criminal charges, and working as an associate at a general practice firm in Carlisle.

Shawn graduated Magna Cum Laude from Wheeling Jesuit University in 2008 with a degree in Political and Economic Philosophy. He was honored with the Henry B. Sendaydiego Award and was a member of the Phi Sigma Tau International Honor Society and Alpha Sigma Nu. In 2008, he presented his work at the Seventh International Congress on the Future of Western Civilization in Lublin, Poland. He obtained his Juris Doctor from Dickinson School of Law in 2011.

Originally from Ohio, Shawn is a passionate supporter of the Steelers, Pirates, Penguins, and Ohio State Buckeyes. Residing in Carlisle with his family, he actively participates in the Cumberland County Bar Association’s Pro Bono Section. In 2016, he was honored with the Cumberland County Bar Association Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award.
